HISTORY
Racescene was formed in 1998 by Richard Maxwell and operated from a small shop located on the outskirts of Barnsley town centre, specializing in lightweight frames and bikes imported from Italy and Holland. In 2004 Racescene relocated to a 3000 sq ft race studio located on the A61 Sheffield Road.
In the early years Richard formed a working relationship with Gijs van Tuyl from zaltbommel in Holland and introduced the Van Tuyl range of frames and bikes to the UK market with great success. With Richards links with other Italian frame manufacturers the business grew and created a reputation for high end top quality race, and audax bikes.
