Spad is a tribute to Francesco Baracca an hero of the First World War,
and to his airplane, from which the frame take the name.
Very high modulus carbon tubing, custom-shaped specially for Somec. The internal structure of the tube is unidirectional and biaxial carbon. The No-Cut System allows maximum use of the mechanical characteristics of the long carbon fibers to obtain a product of high resistance to torsion.
Multisized diameter head tube of 1” 1/8 at the top, and 1” 1/2 at the bottom.
The lower section for the bearing is produced from carbon.
The dedicated headset has been designed in order to avoid infiltrations. Internal cables routeing. The full carbon bottom bracket housing is Press-Fit (86.5×41).
Carbon monocoque fork with carbon dropouts.
